Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
About the Role
Ensley is seeking to hire an experienced FULL-TIME HEAVY EQUIPMENT DIESEL MECHANIC to inspect, service, and maintain our wide range of heavy-duty construction equipment. As a lead mechanic, you will be responsible for driving to the job site, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to the construction fleet establishing credit applications and generating specific parts list based off equipment needs.
To ensure success as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with heavy machinery, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues on the job site. A top-notch heavy equipment mechanic can repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.
Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties:
Inspect/repair trucks, semi-trucks, cranes, bulldozer, skid steer, genie lifts and other heavy diesel equipment for proper performance
Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment
Adjust equipment and replacing defective parts
Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine service on heavy-duty vehicles.
Clean and service machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms
Perform major repair work when necessary
Consult with other mechanics on smaller jobs if needed
Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of 7 years' of experience preferred as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic
Understanding of computer testing technologies and processes
Ability to lift heavy machinery
Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
Ability to work after-hours if needed
Good communication skills
Education Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification/License Requirement:
Valid and clean Florida driver's license (required)
ASE Certificationas a heavy equipment mechanic (preferred)
Physical Ability Requirements:
Ability to stand and be on your feet 8+ hours a day
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
Ability to assist other teammates
