Concrete Mason/Paver Installer
About the Role
Ensley is looking for 2 Full-Time Concrete Mason/Paver Installers that can help us 'Pave the Way' to creating lasting relationships with customers. This position needs to be passionate about what they do and specific attention to detail. The position will be required to lay, smooth, and finish poured concrete surfaces in addition to installing pavers for various residential, commercial, and other project sites. Projects may include driveways, patios, sidewalks, curbs, roads, and bars.
Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties:
Cement edges of the paved area
Cut paving stones to size and for edges, concrete curbing, using a splitter and or masonry saw
Design paver installation layout pattern and create markings for directional references of joints and stringlines
Compact bedding sand and pavers to finish the paved area, using a plate compactor (if needed)
Prepare base for installation by removing unstable or unsuitable materials, compacting, and grading the soil, draining, or stabilizing weak or saturated soils and taking measures to prevent water penetration and migration of bedding sand
As a Concrete finisher you will place forms to control where concrete is being poured and help spread the concrete as poured to ensure the finished result will be level per plans or customer designed
Preferred experienced on running small to mid-size excavator or skid steer based on Project needs
Perform other duties including but not limited to operating equipment
Apply sealant as needed
Possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors, and general public
All other duties assigned
Education/Training Requirements:
5 to 7 years’ experience as a Concrete Mason/Paver Installer
High School Diploma or equivalent degree
Certification/License Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License (has transportation to and from work)
Equipment Operator’s License (preferred)
Personal Characteristics:
Proven and previous work experience as a concrete mason
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work on weekends, public holidays, and at night (if needed).
Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Ability to work for long hours in all weather conditions.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Excellent communication and observation skills.
Physical Abilities:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. regularly.
Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting.
